Emilia has over 40 years of working experience in architectural and urban design and construction as well as tertiary education. Before moving to New Zealand, Emilia designed and oversaw all types and sizes of buildings and methods of constructions in Bulgaria, Libya and Zimbabwe.

Before her retirement from the University of Auckland, Emilia taught various urban planning and urban design courses. ​Emilia’s professional services include:
